Why did we create CopyTaste.com?
CopyTaste.com is the first global and internal project of Reklam5. Copytaste is a free web service that is created for worldwide usage. The idea for the project stemmed from the work necessities that the creater crew faced, it was shaped during the production phase and it is still developing.
How does it actually work?
Copytaste.com is a free and fast sharing web site. Registration is not compulsory. There are privaleges and more features for the members, though. However, you can still share a supported data or text with your friends without creating an account.
You can share a text, a video URL from any of the video streaming sites, a song or upload a couple of pictures from the family album using the rich text applications and create a unique web page that is going to last as long as the web site provides service.
Users can make use of this service in a variety of ways. For example, they can create a job advertisement using our web service and share the URL in anyway they want to. You can see CopyTaste URLs as a status message on a social network, in a forum post or on a job advertisement site.
Individuals or companies without a web site can create a page about their product and share the URL in various ways. A hostel in Spain created tens of pages for advertisement purposes. Hotel Commodore, an Italian establishment, made an appearance on CopyTaste.com with a web page including the URL of its web site and a pamphlet. Indian entrepreneur Ajith Kamath uses CopyTaste.com often to advertise his professional ideas and to publish his online CV.
How long does the project take?
Since the idea of CopyTaste.com derived from our needs in the office we have created the project in two weeks time by arranging a couple of meetings, chit chating at lunch time and making use of the ideas sparked in our minds during the day. This two weeks period was the gestation period. The design and programming processes began in November 2008. First live test took place in 15 December 2008 and the beta version was launched in January 2009. The first version upgrade that gives more features to users took place in March 2009. The project is still in development phase.
What was the impact?
“CopyTaste is the most entertaining project that our crew members have ever developed! Because we can touch the world through CopyTaste. When the project was launched in January we thought it did not mean a thing for the rest of the world. Naturally, an expectation aroused in exchange for our efforts. The joy was worth seeing after one of the biggest networks CNET reviewed our web service. Another celebration took place when a technology channel in Germany made a video review about us. We were jumping in joy and hugging each other, shouting and celebrating…”
